Förderverein Sonnenblumenschule (DE)
The Förderverein Sonnenblumenschule Langen stands up for all pupils.
The Förderverein Sonnenblumenschule Langen, a non-profit association run by parents, was founded in 1996. It is supporting the primary school in Langen in organizing and carrying out the after-school care for pupils. Besides two intensive homework-groups which are offered four times a week, a special German language course has been established for children with little or no prior knowledge of German. As part of the school’s all-day-offer, the Förderverein also organizes lunch, break time supervision and, in addition, extracurricular activities during the Hessian school holidays.
The Parent’s association also financially contributes to the school’s newspaper “Sonnenblättchen”, excursions, school trips and various school purchases.
Ever since 2015, the Hahnair Foundation has been supporting a special concept, developed together with the City of Langen: The concept should combat old-age poverty and help financially disadvantaged families with kids, and ease the integration of newcomers. Therefore, since 2024, the Förderverein Sonnenblumenschule Langen has been supported immediately by the programme to ensure that newly arrived children are being well integrated into regular school activities as soon as possible.
